Connection. Care. Endless Possibilities.
Launched in 2017 in partnership with ConocoPhillips, Corporate Mentoring introduces career pathways, post‑secondary options, and employment‑readiness skills to students in grades 7-9 at Father R. Perin School in Janvier.
Corporate Mentoring combines structured in‑class learning with off‑site visits. Classroom sessions focus on skill development and career exploration, while site visits provide students with direct access to industry mentors and the opportunity to observe workplace operations firsthand. Each session targets a specific skill area, with core components that include strengths identification, translating interests into career options, mental health and wellness, interpersonal and leadership development, and practical workplace competencies.
Activities are designed to build confidence, resilience, and a clearer sense of future possibilities. These experiences allow students to engage with professionals, ask questions, and see career pathways in action, reinforcing classroom learning with real‑world context.
- Mentored youth are twice more likely to feel happy, healthy, and confident.
- Mentored youth are 20% more likely to attend college, and earn 15% more across their careers.
- 94% of mentored youth have an enhanced sense of self-identity and self-worth, and feel more optimistic.

“This program has helped many youth start thinking about careers and how important schooling is. Our students have been taught respect, boundaries, communication and teamwork.
Our school is benefiting from this program and would like to continue to have them back year after year. We are very appreciative of your support.”
